Deuteronomy 22:28-29

New International Version (NIV)

28 If a man happens to meet a virgin who is not pledged to be married and rapes her and they are discovered, 29 he shall pay her father fifty shekels[a] of silver. He must marry the young woman, for he has violated her. He can never divorce her as long as he lives.

I dont have an issue with you knowing the verse, I have an issue with the interpretation. This whole passage of scripture, verse 13 to verse 30 is about sexual immorality. These were laws given to the Israelites to actually keep them from sexual impurity, not to cause it. This specific one was protection for the woman, not a liberty for the man. This is why there was a penalty to pay for the man, and he was bound to marry the woman if she and her father agreed. So no, God is not telling men to go rape woman in order to get a mate.

Exception the rule.

Its funny to me how in this country there is this growing trend of “acceptance” and “tolerance”. Except in the case of evangelical Christianity. Christianity has become americas punching bag. Dont dare tred on the toes of other religions, race, age or orientation. But when it comes to Christianity ridicule has become the social and cultural norm. With the same breath that people scream out for tolerance and individuality, they mock Christianity as if it was the exception to their rule.
